Better timout functionality

When the site time out I don't get any message about it. It just stops responding. Reloading the current page doesn't take me to the login-page either.
I have to type in http://www.projectplace.com in the address bar of my browser to log in again.
I use Firefox 4.0.1

Hi,

I am working in Neonode in Korea. Recenlty I tried to go into Project Place/Neonode IP/Documents/Neonode Patent Prospectus 10 June 2011.pdf.

However I could not go into this step. My projectplace is showing me only one category, weekly report.

Can you reply to me on this problem?

Calendar Funktion

CALENDER REDUCED FUCTION

THIS IS NOT MENT TO BE AN IDEA - IS MENT TO REPORT A PROBLEM... OR AT LEAST IT SEEMS TO BE A CHANGE COUSED BY AN UPDATE ON THE CALENDAR FUNCTION.

It seems that by upgrading your Calendar function (must be microsoft calendar standards) the option to touch calendar entries has been changed

The background has been modified such that you can not see anymore all informations "at once" for a specific Dat or week... by touching calendar entry. Secodly you do not see for example an overview from 08:00 Uhr to 17:00 Uhr at one look. So the " look and feel" has also been changed. And the colour of the Caldnar has turned into light blue (not very clear to see anymore all information needed).

We have place a ticket and the answer was that this is a chnage due to new Calendar Version enbeded with your PP upgrade, respectively it seems to me now "take or leaved".

This is not satifactionary for a user, as this seems to be a "bug" due to the fact the for what ever reason the layout and contents on the date entries sometime swaps over to its "older status - as it should be". so this to me is not a feature it is a problem!

A possibility to disable the Chat funktion (the new social communication feature) general for the project. I miss the funktion to enable or disable the chat funktion under Settings / Tools & Access.

During the last month - the online meeting system has become more unstable and crashed several times (not only for me but also for several of my colleagues as well)... it has also become more complicated to join an online meeting... I was very pleased vith the netmeeting capabilities before and I hope that these issues will be resolved in a near future

There is a member of my project that is not able to access it. She is set to read and write in all parts of the project, is listed as a member but, when she clicks in the project name, an error screen apears...

She will get in touch with you soon, I think.

She tried from my computer and it didn´t work eighter, so it's not a configuration/hardware problem.

Could you please help us?

Document crash when uploading

When I download some documents from projectplace, open and lock, starts to edit them in office, then press save the document save to be sure that I don't lose any work in case of crash etc. Afterwards when uploading to Projectplace, the document won't upload, and I loose all my work too.

I am editing the document in Office 2010, Word. It has not been a problem the last 6 months. Nothing changed to other documents I work with locally or for other projects - no errors or failures basically.

What really makes this odd is that when I look up the document in Windows Explorer to get it back, it shows a byte size of 0. The document is damaged and can't be opened.

This is what I have tested to see if I could isolate the problem so far.

1. No problems found yet with documents that is not downloaded from projectplace, or other documents in projectplace.

2. It has happened with one document so far from Projectplace that was sent for review. The document had been reviewed from others already. The document is a docx format.

3. First time:

3.1 Open projectplace and goes to the review section.

3.2 Open and locks the document. Word opens with the document.

3.3 Edits the document. The document has some strange formatting errors from authors side, but should not affect saving or uploading of a file to projectplace. The problem can be locally with the formatting and how Word and the integration with Projectplace handles it.

3.4 Saves the document to the computer. The dialog box asking to save just pops-up again as if the document was not saved. I press save again, same things happens over and over again. The dialog box shows that the files has been save to the selected folder locally, as I can see it in the save dialog box. I cancel further requests of saving the document after having pressed save multiple times to remove the save dialog box.

3.5 After finishing my review, I close the document. I don't get any question to whether add comments, or save back to projectplace, nor unlock it. I get one dialog box asking if I am finished with my review or something though.

3.6 I locate the document on my pc locally, and it shows 0 byte. The file has the right name and file extension. All changes is lost as it is not saved to projectplace either.

4. Second approach:

4.1 I do the same as in point 3, but this time I don't try to save the document locally, during editing, as it in the first place just seems like the save button has become a dummy. The dialog reapears just after I pressed it anyway giving me an indication of that something was wrong, and even though the document was saved to the disk it was not possible to open it and Explorer said 0 Byte on file size.

4.2 After finishing my review of the document, (no saving to local disk, etc.), I finish my review by clicking the X button in the upper right corner of Word, closing word and the document.

4.3 I get the normal process from projectplace taking me through comments, uploading and unlocking the document and everything is fine.

Any ideas to what can have caused this?
There is no issues with the PC (checked and verified), and I have only experienced it with this one document yet...

issue with MAC and Mozilla

I have some problem to select the right tab with the new interface, when using mozilla with a macbokk pro (MAC OS snow leopard): when I try to go to "issue", it does not work immediately. Did you detect this issue?

Als ik via een link, inlog in PP heb ik niet de mogelijkheid om uit te loggen. Bij afsluiten PP blijft mijn verbinding dan ongewenst open staan.

wir haben heute dasselbe dokument auf zwei verschiedenen computern geladen und differente versionen erhalten. einmal firefox mit plugin, version 0.11 des dokuments, war aktuell. einmal internet explorer ohne plugin, version 0.11 des dokuments, war veraltet (etwa 2-3 versionen alt). bei beiden maschinen sieht die dokumentbezeichnung, die version, der titel genau gleich aus. wir hatten diese schwierigkeit schon mehrmals, aber noch nie zeitgleich prüfen können.

Bij het uploaden van documenten kan ik wel meerdere bestanden tegelijk slepen, bij het het weer downloaden niet. Of zie ik dan iets over het hoofd?

When I drag and drop a file to a projectplace folder, it no longer ends up in the folder, but on the same level as the folder. This worked ok in the old version.

Group members Alphabetical order

I am unable to change my email address. I have ok'd email address from work

Windows Vista and Word 2007 are totally incompatible with Project Place (not impressed) so having to change to work email address (which I am not supposed to use) but so out of date with entries on Project Place which is not good as I am on the Committe and need to be up to date

Any advice would be gratefully recieved

Search for issues fail 3

The fix for "Search for issues fail" might be out but the problem is still there!!!!

I search for "cycle" and do not find the issue named "Power consumption in reference load cycle" and I really do not like it.

Am I missing something or is it time for imprvement?

(I still run IE7)

Remove dependency!

I have just set a dependency on the wrong task, but can't find a way to remove it!

I set up a dependency on a tollgate, unintentionally.

Also I can set the same dependency multiple times, which is not necessary.

After logout, the next time you log in username is wiped off. And you have to write it again.

The system should remember last username.

Powertag på bred skärm

På kontoret kopplar jag en vanlig skärm till min laptop och då fungerar powertab som den ska. När jag däremot använder datorns widescreenskärm så hänger powertab ner en centimeter vilket ser konstigt ut och tar onödig plats. Går det att ställa in?

Problem with document opening

after clicking on a document a message occurs: " A temporary error occurs during the download. Please try again. OK"

But I think I made no mistake during loading.. What can I do? Do anyone know an answer?

Shortcuts in preferences

I reckon that there is an error here since I expect that the shortcuts in "My preferences" should be hyperlinks taking you to the actual folder or document that you have placed in the shortcut repository. However, when pointing on them, I am not taken to the file and consequently the function currently has no meaning.

Update progress/WBS

When updating progress (tasks) and WBS by pointing at the field for these issues, the system "hang" - can not update by typing the relevant numbers and then OK. This was no problem in the previous version of Project place.
