Separate tasks in "Time Reporting"

In the time reporting screen it's difficult to see which times are for which task. (the boxes do not directly belong to a task)
It happens often that you enter times for one task above or below the task you want to enter the time.
In this view should be lines to seperate the tasks from each other.
Different grey levels would also be ok,...one light gray, one dark gray and so on.
Pls. find enclosed screenshot to see my problem and a possible idea for redesign.

Important Documents Folder (For Real)

We want to be able to share alot of documents via the Projectsite or Website.

Why not create an "Important Docs" Folder in Documents and automatically publish the contents of this folder to the Project Site, rather than the slightly odd way you have to do it today. This would enable the user to better manage the contents of the Project Site as it would be simple to see what is being published.

Make a sub-window (e.g.: upload) movable

In some cases it would be good to see the information below a conversation window opened when e.g. doing an up-load of files, etc.

To achieve this the conversation-window should be movable like any other window to allow access to information below.

Let browsers remember Login details

Please set the “autocomplete” attribute on your login page to autocomplete=on

This will allow web browsers to prompt the user to remember login credentials - it's really a pain using PP many times during the day and having to re-type email and password every time...

Senaste händelserna MÅSTEk kunna:
1) listas (konfigurerbart intervall) (CHECK).
2) scrolla's - HAR SLUTAT FUNGERA (SE BIFOGNING) - FIXA!!!

Att snabbt kunna se en översikt över vad som hänt från beslutsfattande nivå till operativ nivå är A och för mig som pendlar mellan projektledare och utvecklare (vill se allt, filtrerar ni något får ni många emot er!

Er förra lösning med 'popup' av senaste händelser (som var scrollbar) där man klickade på en händelse på ett dokument var ideal!!!!!

Att även kunna se var (dokumentet) befinner sig i hiearkin är måste samt att ALLA (oavsett IT-nivå) enkelt kan kopiera en länk till ett document där den som följer länken enkelt dels får upp documentet men även förstår i vilken "mapp och kontext" den ligger i (hela kedjan (tänkt Breadcrumbs).

Disable email notification

I'm satisfied with the notification centre. To many emails, please allow more flexible email notification functions!

Windows 8 support

Add support for Windows 8 as a platform for projectplace client tooling. Currently tool crashes.

Additionally develop a Windows 8 Metro style app.

Platform is increasing popularity in business, enterprises and projectplace users. Certainly at my place.

extend action view screen

If an action screen is opened, it would be usefull to make the title of the action visible if you are scrolling down through the comments of the action. On top of that it would also be good if this screen opens with the last comment visible. An action can have lots of comments and the last ones are probably the most relevant.

Lack of connections

In PP its not possible to connect activities in Tasks/Workplan at Projectstep for having a great overview of the project. (only to Activitie board)
...need to have.....

For widget at sitehead, theres only connection to Acitivity board, not Tasks/Workplan.
... like to have...

Speed up the GUI

Tried to find some mailaddress for feedback but didn't, so let's put it hear instead:

You need to do something to speed up the browser gui - it was slow before, but after the update earlier this year it is close to not usable (for a document view with quite a lot of folders/files)

(No, I don't have a slow PC..)

Back button FIX IT

Browser history is broken - pressing Back button, regardless of how much and where I have navigated, pressing the browser back button throws me all the way back to the login screen, which is extremely annoying.

This is a repost, but I’m bringing it up again. It is REALLY annoying. It is fine that you have your breadcrumb and your navigation at the top, but the back button is something that is implemented in so many other programs, that is difficult not to use it in PP as well.

Please fix!

Global ID for assignments, with text entry to find them

I'd like to be able to navigate directly to an item (issues, in priority), by entering its ID in a text box and pressing enter.

Use case: I'm on the phone with the project manager and she refers to an issue, assigned to someone else (but I don't know who). She refers to it by ID, I enter that ID in the box (accessible anywhere in the interface), hit enter, and the issue appears on my screen.

Bonus improvement: it would be awesome if all tasks, issues, meetings, etc., were assigned a globally unique ID, or at least if you could refer to them uniquely (maybe t123 for Task 123, i234 for Issue 234, etc.).

Time reporting

In time reporting, the warning message "You have not saved your changes" and the save button have been moved. In the new location it's not visible on most screens, which means you have to scroll down to see it. I'd recommend that they are moved back to their previous location. We have already had cases where people haven't saved their time reporting since they didn't see the warning and/or save button.

Allow Users to Add New Currency

I'm a user in Singapore and my company has 2 other offices in Malaysia and Thailand. However, I cannot find the currencies SGD, MYR and THB. The list of available currencies is limited. Please add in the 3 currencies for me. The best option is to allow users to select any currencies globally instead of just a limited list.

We monitor projects in their local currencies. Appreciate your help to enable this quickly. Thanks.

I log in and out many times during one day and would really appreciate a function that remembers my password. Also the new design where you have to press the "log-in button" at the start page to view the fields is not very user friendly.

I participate in a project place that shares a lot of file. That is probably not uncommon. However, your document browser (it it deserves that name) is clumsy, slow and very impractical.

a USEFULL document browser would download the full document structure and, using the local data,
offer lighning fast access to all the directories
offer fast document search
a USEFULL document browser would always jump back to the latest diorectory when I press "back"in my internet browser
a USEFULL document browser would have a progress bar when uploading large files, and would jump back to the location, or AT LEAST provide an "OK" button that brings you back.

The other idea was discarded. I'm creating a new one to show that this is an important question. What's the point of discarding/locking ideas before we are allowed to vote for them?

I'm sorry, but it's quite obvious that breaking the standard functionality of the web browser is a very very bad idea. I find myself again and again coming back to the start page because I clicked back on my mouse. Remember that the windows file explorer also uses back and forward buttons nowadays, so the projectplace behaviour is very unexpected. Most desktop mice has back and forward buttons built in. Many browsers also have gestures for forward and back.

Larger description field

Hi, the description field in task properties is a usability catastrophe. Why is the most important field in the whole application so small and only 5 rows long? Please consider a more dynamic solution, it is not fun to work with

Scheduled work list cropped

Scheduled work is cropped at the bottom, I can only the half of the list entry. There is no scrollbar.

Tasks overview empty on first request

When opening the Tasks tab from the main menu there is only a white section where the tasks should be lists.
Clicking on "Work Plan" or "Resources" reveals the list. Seems that the "Work plan" is not shown by default when clicking on the "Tasks" main menu item (not the "Work Plan" sub menu).

Slow screen refreshing

Since the PP update I find that the usability has worsened. My observation is that the system has become very, very slow. Each time I click on a folder it takes time to expand the content of a folder and it is no longer possible to tick on multiple folders to expand simultaneously.
The screen is constantly shifting, which is also annoying. Maybe I am in a too large project environment, but I thought that PP should be designed for that very purpose!

Keep "old" look as faster version

I read in an "archived" idea that the new Projectplace look is going to be released in June. This worries me a lot since it is so much slower than the present look, even after the last update of the customer preview.

For me, performance is the key usability factor, actually I don't care much about what the interface looks like in this case as long as it is easy to navigate.

I suggest that you consider keeping the old look for those of us who thinks performance is more important than modern appearance. Another option would be to have a selectable "down graded" version with less graphics.

If you release the new look, the past couple of months will have been a nightmare for the usability development of projectplace. Together with the so called update of PowerTab where the default browser is forced, it is far from an ideal situation.

Are there any available figures on the performance of the new interface? How many people have complained over the PowerTab update?
