I have also seen this phenomenon.
Worse however is the frequent problem with an "empty" browser window after document editing or browsing through a folder and then trying to change or update folder. Or the irritating login timeouts when working in telemeetings. And what happened to the PlugIn that used to make my project work smoother? I think you should have done more extensive user tests before introducing the new design and functions. Stable, reliable and predictable basic document version handling and such is what we really need to keep project members updated and project plans in progress. Don't forget that when introducing new features.
