Hi,
I think the responsible guy for an open issue should set the status "completed" when he thinks that the issue is solved. This should automatically assign the issue back to the originator who then has to close it by selecting the new status. Thus open issues should only disappear when the status "closed" has been chosen. This status shall only be available by the originator.

Thanks for your feedback. There is a setting for administrations where they can decide the behaviour. You find it by clicking on Settings in the right hand side of the overview window. See screen shot.
