Hi Jakob!

You are absolutely correct. As long as there is no activity from you in Projectplace itself, we have no way of knowing if you are typing on a document in word or off on lunch, therefore you will have to log in again in the session if you have been timed out (apprx. one hour).

Do you believe that logging in only once through the plug-in after you have been logged out would make it easier for you and others?

Best regards,
Karolina

Hi Jakob,

Thanks for your feedback. Like you point out, the PowerTab will keep you logged in automatically. You can also reach you latest documents and shortcuts straight from the powertab.

Best regards
Karolina

PowerTab do NOT keep me logged in. PowerTab will log me in while accessing Project via PowerTab.
The problem occurs when ProjectPlace is opened and a document is opened. Then PowerTab have NO effect anymore. And I get logged out after a while, and have to logged in for every document I want to store (Quite anoying if I have 10 documents opened for edit and save them all at the same time), and again if I like to continue browse ProjectPlace.

Since accessing ProjectPLace via PowerTab will log me in, then PowerTab should KEEP me logged in, the security is at the same level. If I choose to NOT use PowerTab I belive the current behavior is ALMOST acceptable (providing the password one time should give access for all my open documents and the projectplace "browser").

I completely agree with this request.

I consider it okay to have to enter the password once if I haven't actively used Projectplace for an hour while editing a document. But if I have more than one document open and close them at the same time, I think it's silly that I must enter the password multiple times.

This behavior does not increase security, rather the other way since it increases the risk that someone can see what I'm typing as I'm entering my password multiple times in a row.

Thanks,
Tobias

Isn't it possible to set up PowerTab to access ProjectPlace on a regular basis to prevent ProjectPlace to logout.
If the timeframe to logout after idle is 10 minutes, then PowerTab should access ProjectPlace every 9.5 minutes, to refresh.

For me it's acceptable that the login times-out, but it would be nice if any ONE re-login would do it, whether this is to store a changed document, release a locked but not changed file or a login to main window

I brought this up in the latest quality meeting so we know that a lot of people find the current solution less than perfect. We are also working on a single sign-on solution for our enterprise users which would completely take away the need to authorise in the browser. The single sign-on is currently in internal beta.

Best regards

I agree with this idea. Very annoying to have to login again and again and again. The Powertab does the trick to access quickly, unfortunately the Powertab seldom/ never works for me (seems to be when I connect via wifi)

I feel the same .. It is very annoying to have to login again and again and again. And as other user describe the plugin, I don't think the plugin is the solution.
If you write some comments, and you get something urgent while you are writing on the comment page.. you come back after the standby time .. you will loose the connection to the site and you loose your comments.
The same behavior could you face while you are doing other activities. Security should be done in another way, I suggest.
