Hi,
We use the issue section of ProjectPlace to track project issues that are managed by project team members and non-project team members. For management reporting purposes, it would be good to be able to assign issues to non-project members (similar to the way that resources can be assigned tasks in the work plan).
Today, when we print the open issues list it appears as if some issues do not have an owner when they actually do have an assigned owner.
The ”Send by e-mail and request feedback” allow us to distribute issues to non-project team member.
Therefore, the lack of being able to assign a name is only related to management reporting. For management reporting of open issues, we have to add the assigned names every week to issues that are managed by non-project members. Being able to include a “Contact” or text name, would make it easy for our management reporting of open issues.
Best regards, Gloria
By the way, the Open Issues capabilities in ProjectPlace are wonderful. This is really an ideal improvement to an already excellent tool.
Going through and updating status of closed ideas according to our new way of working. New process works as follows:
1. When you post a new idea that we consider valid, we will label it 'Open to vote for', so that it can be shared with other users and start gathering votes
2. Ideas that are support-related, already exist in some manner or non-implemented ideas that are older than a year and that have not gathered enough votes will be Archived.
3. We keep some older ideas that we think are in line with something we are planning otherwise or that have gathered enough votes.
4. If there are duplication of ideas, we may archive one of them and keep another which can continue to gather votes.
5. Ideas that we are planning to implement will be moved into the category 'Accepted'
