I have a suggestion to improve the speed of the document section for us plug-in users.
Today the browser loads for 2-3 seconds every time I click on folder to open (or close) it. But if the plug-in application could download the catalog tree and file information in the background it would allow me to browse just as fast as a local file manager.
It's no advanced technology required. The app just have to run a sync, but not sync the files only the structure and file info. You already keep track of everything for the red flags, so it can't be that big step to let my local plug-in sync all changes and store the catalog tree and file info on my local drive.

Håkan
Hi Håkan,
Thanks for your idea. There is an app under development that will let you sync files with Projectplace. I don't know exactly how it will work yet, but I will update these ideas with further information when I know.

Note that I don't think it's necessary to sync files. It would be enough to sync the structure of folders and file information. Less data to sync, less data to store and still a lot faster to use.
Hi,
We have started development of a portal to open up for API usage. There is no estimated release of this portal yet.

We are looking into why this takes so long. Let's see what the investigation comes up with. I have provided your solution as a possibility.

Great. It would be nice if the response time is reduced. Looking forward to see what happens.
It's not even necessary to sync the folder structure to solve the time delay. Just don't reload the page. Download the new folder info ONLY and insert it into the page dynamically. This is not a new technique and frankly I'm surprised it's not already implemented site wide.
