I think it would be better if the topics with the newest posts stayed on top from newest post to older post. It would be easier to follow the discussions....

We are aware that this is something that will need to be addressed and are looking into which way would be best to show where there is new content in a thread.

This is something that we have discussed a lot and we have a lot of different solutions to it. It is a likely candidate for future improvements. More votes will make it more likely to be implemented.
