Hi Håkan,

Thanks for your idea. Projectplace for iPad does not seem like an impossible idea. Like the iPhone app it's likely to be developed by our Labs team.

Projectplace Labs is an effort to invite our users to participate early in our product development process. Here you'll find
Beta versions of new feature candidates (like PowerTab)
Experiments in new partnerships and mash-ups.
New system content we're considering (e.g. project templates)
Early information on what's cooking inside Projectplace.
One of the main reasons for us to put things on Projectplace Labs is to get your feedback early in the development process. So take the opportunity to influence what will be release! Post comment and vote.

Best regards,
Karolina

I think the term used when making iPad versions of iPhone apps is "High Definition version", HD for short. At Labs we would love to make a HD version of the Projectplace app. If nothing else, just because it sounds cool. =)

However, it's not on our road map. It seems that iPad opens up new possibilities. It also closes some (like phone and SMS features). This makes a straight port (i.e. "only" using the extra screen space) less interesting from a Projectplace Labs perspective.

Here's some hope. There's work being carried out by the "regular" Projectplace development team on the iPhone app, as we speak. iPad might be something that should be considered in that work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed here that this idea gets tons of support.

Maybe it is possible to incorporate a poll on your website for requests like these?

I use my iPad every day for managing my projects when I am with customers. And since the device has been sold a few million times there will probably be more people who would like to see an iPad version of the app.

IThe current Projectplace app for the iPhone is like reading a book trough a magnifying glass.

Hi Stefan,

The purpose behind Projectplace Ideas is to help us see which ideas are most important to our users and to get new ideas. We have similar forum internally as well which is also full of cool and interesting ideas. Keeping the ideas in one (or two) places makes it easier for us to prioritise and have an overview. But feel free to take the link to this idea and spread it in any forum where you think it might be of interest.

All the best,
Karolina

I think that a iPad app would be great, but proper support for Safari with some design considerations for the mobile format would do the job as well. And gett better support for Mac users as well.

I am so disappointed , this is the only internet application so far that I cannot use with my i-pad, it would make such a difference to mobile working, saving paper and carrying a laptop everywhere. Please let it happen soon.

Hi, I just bought my iPad and the big problem for me right now (to use this as i business tool), is ofcourse the lack och compatiblity with either safari or the app.
Projectplace Labs, you have to understand that this is important for us iPad-users since most of our daily work is based on "Internet saved data". Saving data on local device is part of the past.
Kind regards Josef

Hi Anonymous,

What kind of problems do you experience with Safari?

Karolina

An Ipad app is a must if I am to get the most out of Projectplace. When traveling I rarely bring the laptop any more and that is when I need to use project place the most.

Totally agree soon please

Hi all,

Projectplace should work in Safari on the iPad. Are you having problems with this? What features would you like to see in an app?

Best regards,
Karolina

I had the same expierence with Safari and PP, the error message "Safari cannot open the page..." occurs. Not really what I expected from Projectplace.

We got a demo today of a first look at what we could do on the iPad. The focus was mainly of reading documents as this is an area where the iPad excels. The mobile team is focusing on the iOS so iPad/iPhone users heads up for the future.

We now have an alpha version if any of you are interested in testing. Let me know if you are interested and I'll message you the details of how to sign up. Note! Please log in here at the forum before you let me know you want to test so I know who you are:)

All the best,
Karolina

I also would like to try out the alphaversion if it´s still possible.

I would be very happy to test the alpha version. I do manage to use my I Pad, ignoring the error message about safari cannot see the page and being patient usually works but it is painfully slow
