Often you want to upload large number of files organized in a folder tree structure. Today PP manages to copy the complete source structure to PP and to copy all files in it to PP by using "drag-and-drop". Extremely convinient. Unfortunately, there is no way to activate version management of the folders or files being transferred to PP. This means that you have to go through each file and folder to have their version managment activated. This may take several days for large structures! Alternatively you have to set up a corresponding folder structure in PP and then drag their related files to PP. This considerably reduces the effeciency of the function described above.
Suggests that version management in some way to be selectable already at drag and drop of large structures.

Indeed! Like all file/folder properties this should be an editable property possible to impose on "this folder and all objects herein".
I completely agree. An option to apply version management for an entire folder and its subfolders should do the trick.
The top ideas with status Quality Backlog are discussed on a regular basis with the design team. These should be minor development, and could include hygiene factors, little things that create a wow effect and ideas that could have a positive effect on a lot of users.
Don't forget to vote for the ideas you like as higher ranked ideas have a better chance of getting implemented.
Do not hesitate to find a solution to this! Absolutetly a "must" from our perspective. Projects often starts locally, and then being transferred to PP. Version management being directly implemented when transferring a filing structure will save a lot of time.
Workaround: Copy the local folder structure to new location on local drive. Start CMD and CD to root of structure copy. Do a DEL *.* /s /q /f (deletes every file in structure - make sure you're in the right place...) to empty folder structure. Copy structure to PP, set version management then dragdrop files from explorer. Tedious but works and saves time compared to doing it in PP.
Hi,
Tonight we have implemented a function to upload multiple documents to Projectplace. You'll find it under the New menu in Documents. Here you can also choose to put the files under version management.
Best regards,
Karolina
Damn, you listen! Good on you!
