When someone has a need to import a folder structure into a new project room the most reasonable way is to use drag and drop plugin.
The problem with this approach is that although you drag and drop to a versioned folder only the files ending up in this folder will be set under version control. All sub folders will not be set.
Additional it is not possible to select several files and perform task Version to set all of them under version control.
So when you drag and drop a sub folder with 100 files it would mean
to set 100 times file per file to set under version control.
I would like to see 2 new features:
Have on folder under Version and Check Box Option
[ ] Recursive Version Control on Sub Folders
This would version all content placed inside such a folder.
It should describe the default behaviour when adding files.
Still it should be possible to change some files to take version control away. A drag and drop of a folder structure would be than not problem.
Additional it should be possible to use the version action on multible selected files and not only on single files.
Workarround today is to put folders first and set under version control. Sure if it's a complex folder structure this is as well some work.
After this add the files.
For a complex folder structure maybe the idea to copy the structure to a temp folder and use windows search to show all files and folders. Than sort by type and remove all contained files.
Than just add the folder structure. Than set the version control for the folders.
Than drag and drop the structure including the content.
The top ideas with status Quality Backlog are discussed on a regular basis with the design team. These should be minor development, and could include hygiene factors, little things that create a wow effect and ideas that could have a positive effect on a lot of users.
