Projectplace needs a better handle of hi-res photos, and maybe even a thumbnails function.
Today if you open hi-res pictures they are shown in “100%”, therefore you have to scroll and don’t get a overview off the picture. - The solution would be a zoom function.
Hi Anders,
Thanks for your feedback. Thumbnails would be nice, I agree. Hopefully, with enough votes for this, we can at least get some resources on looking into how difficult it could be.
As for how files are opened this depends a little on your configuration. If you run the Projectplace Plug-in, the pictures will open with whatever application is associated with the file type. Otherwise, it's the setting in the web broswer that determines how images are opened...so pictures stored at Projectplace should behave in the same way as pictures anywhere else on the web.
Best regards,
Karolina
The top ideas with status Quality Backlog are discussed on a regular basis with the design team. These should be minor development, and could include hygiene factors, little things that create a wow effect and ideas that could have a positive effect on a lot of users.
I agree, it would give a great wow effect and I believe also that it could make the handling of pictures allot easier and more efficient.
The fact that the Projectplace browser does not take the browser setting to automatically resize images is reported as a bug.
Check your browser setting for image resizing. If it's set to resize, it should do so when you open large images from Projectplace. At the moment this is not working through the Projectplace browser though.
We will look into how we could provide thumbnails for images stored at Projectplace. One way could be to implement a view like the one in Planner Edition in Team Edition as well and make thumbnails/preview in that one.
Best regards,
Karolina
This was discussed once again at yesterday's meeting. The idea is lifted to our internal quality backlog for prioritisation.
Still in the internal quality backlog.
I's there any hope for this function in the nere future?
Any news? I´m hoping for the Swedish proverb, the one who waits for something good...
This is still pretty high up in our Quality Backlog and we talked about it in yesterday's meeting. Some of the technical changes are already done for Planner Edition and we're checking how much time it would take to implement in our other editions and for some more file types.
Best regards,
Karolina
Hi,
We have started the investigation on how to do this. When we have some proposals we might to involve some of you that have commented on this idea. Interested? Please let us know.
Best regards,
Karolina
I'm intressted.

A "Picasa" like thumbnail photobook would be very nice; We use a lot of photo's to share with customers; Photoblogging to be involved would be really cool.!
We are currently doing design for a picture gallery feature in Projectplace. If you would like to see out design proposal and give feedback, please participate in this survey:

Hi!
There is development under way to improve the image handing in Projectplace. You can read more about it and what we plan for next release in my blog: http://projectplaceideas.wordpress.com/2011/03/30/project...
This was implemented in tonight's release. Read more about what we released tonight and our plans for the future in my blog post http://projectplaceideas.wordpress.com/2011/04/12/project...
And now the thumbnails are working properly too http://projectplaceideas.wordpress.com
