Dear Technical Team Projectplace
Was asked to sign up to your beta new look version but when I did it tried to force very complex password for all my projects (which I am in and out of all the time) so I withdrew from the beta programme.
You were asking for min 8 char, +numbers, +upper and lower case.
I hate upper and lower case as it always gets mistyped. Why not follow Microsoft approach and so long as it has two out of the three or three out of four (you could use other chars like?/> etc) then your password is allowed (Microsoft must calculate overall complexity score).
For example num12?ber4 would be complex 10 chars numbers other char? But with no upper case. Num1ber2 would be similarly complex but no special chars.
This is about customer choice and does not have a great impact on security in real terms.
In terms of the actual numeric complexity more chars the better and this is a sliding scale mathematically against the range of chars/numbers/case/special chars.
Good to see the trial has eased the complexity requirement somewhat.
