Basically this sounds interesting. But it should be strictly steered through individual parameter/preference settings in order for people not to drown in new-doc-notifications when they don't want it!

I think that the flag mechanism works pretty well and provides the user a possibility to follow up on newly added/changed documents.

If I HAVE to notify project members about new (and BTW: what about changed?) documents then I would drop them a separate mail; all other new/changed docs can be indicated by the flag mechanism on daily basis.

Agee with the above. People will start to ignore notifications if they get flooded with emails.

Far better to manually decide to send and email and send this instead - Remembering to use the email link option of course!

It would be very useful if I as a member could define that I want to get a notification whenever something changes in a folder (or even a specific file). This way the spamming is of your own choice. In our case we have an inbox folder where we want to be notified when a new document arrives. In my case it would also mean that I would skip using the daily reports which actually creates more mails (spamming) in my case.

Alternatively it could be good to define this for a specific folder/file and a group of users.
