Hello Britt-Inger and other users who have commented on this change!

First of all, thank you for taking the time to let us know how you feel about changes in Projectplace, we really appreciate it.

I thought I would explain why this feature was removed. These are the reasons:

  • our aim is to make clear and consistent interfaces without excessive features and text. Since the functionality is not removed, only changed, we did not want this in the interface. We always try to remove visual clutter, which includes things like this and also text that appears in the interface.
  • we want the e-mail form to behave as most others e-mail clients. That is, if you want a copy you add yourself as "cc".

Hello Ellen Ekerling,

the aim to have the same feel-and-look like other e-mail clients is not a problem. But it is not useful to have ONLY the feel-and-look and NOT the full functionality of an e-mail client like an outbox. In my e-mail programm I have a seperate folder for sent email so it is not necessary to take my own e-mail adress in the "cc". Because of the fact, that projectplace don't want to enlarge the e-mail function to a full e-mail programm (with an outbox), the button "copy to myself" complete the e-mail function like moving the e-mails into the "sent mail"-box in my own local e-mail programm (after receiving the copy).
It is also a good aim to want to have clear and consistent interfaces. But for which persons do you develop such interfaces? For the people who works with projecplace day for day. And another aim that you should have is to speed up working with projectplace. That means as few as possible clicks! And if I have to do more clicks in each process of writing an e-mail it seems not target-aimed.
So I hope your comment wasn't the last decision concerning this matter.

Regards, Holger Franke

Either send "copy to myself" or the ability to see all sent mail items should be in place. Now you need too many manual actions if you want te be able to see what you did sent.

I'd agree with the above comments regarding "sent box". It is essential that I maintain a record of having sent a request, via Project Place and previously this was defaulted as happening. Could you not just make it a standard that when a user makes a request that a copy of that request is sent to the users email address? That way you maintain your simplicity and consistency of interface, but we users get what we need.

I've lost my traceability, I use e-mailing daily from PP using the links and address-book, I need the copy!! Reintroduce or add an outbox with only links to docs ==> less space required, perhaps use pop3-possibility to get the mail to your own e-mail client /mathias

I need a e-mail out box to see what I have sent, or else I loose track of what I have done. It is not satisfactory that the messages I send vanishes and is not possible to read at a later moment.
