I usually plan my project in Microsoft Project, making sure that none of my resources (i.e. people) are over-utilized too badly. Then I upload to projectplace.
Then, when I later have to reallocate during the project, I would like to have a way of seeing how my resource utilization is now. I don't need automatic scheduling, just a way to check that my plans are possible.
Ideas with status Business Case require a bit more development and might affect several parts of the system. These will therefore have to be prioritised against other new development. The way we do this is by writing a business case for the development and then discussing the prioritisation of the business cases. We write business cases for the top ideas in this category.
Thanks for replying! Ill check this out as soon as I have a new project to run. It's a little sluggish now...
We have started a pre-study for planning and tracking of project work in Projectplace. The purpose of the pre-study is to create a vision of what we want to support and how, inventory of our current solution, design of several future solutions, selecting the best one and estimating development. The pre-study is scheduled to run for the rest of the year. We will probably want to involve our users in this aswell.
