Additionally an automated email to the administrator (maybe the PM) of the inbox would be really useful (and something I assumed the system had)

Failing that, if the email address of the inbox had a password, then google desktop could be used to view pop/imap mail and whoever needs to montior the inbox for new issues could simply add the inbox account as an account for google desktop to monitor.

We are currently looking into different ways of getting the information you want from Projectplace ... It is very early days yet and we are not sure what might come from it but as always, it is useful to hear what information our users need and when.

We are looking at a number of possibilities for our users to decide how and when they should receive information/alerts about what happens in the project.

Business case made for the top ideas about issues

After the business council we feel that we need to understand the needs people have for the issue management tool better. Please those that have voted, feel free to provide us with further explanation of when and how you need this. And also maybe why the current solution is inadequate.

Immediate notification of new postings, changes, comments, issues, etc. is a MUST. We live in a Twitter world, we expect immediate notification when something happens. You can easily start with an 'immediate notification by e-mail' option and maybe later develop a table of choises (immediate notification of some events, daily or weekly for other). I now have to send separate e-mails to project members to inform them about new items which they should read immediately, this is intolerable and has actually made me look for alternative project management systems

New business case in progress for increased possibility for notifications from Projectplace. Will be done by end of May.

How about Google Wave?

We are just as excited about Google wave as most other people and are looking at how we can use it. If you want to be updated on what happens with Projectplace and what's in the pipe, you can follow me (@ppideas) or Projectplace Labs (@ProjectLabs) on twitter. We will definetly let you know what's on our minds and in the pipe.

Like I said earlier. This is part of a much bigger project to improve how when and why you receive information about what's happening in the project.

In the meantime we are working on the possibility to get a mail notification for slected members when new issues are created. In this smaller project is also included the possibility to include any member in the notification for an issue. Right now only the creator and assigned member gets notified when something changes.

What is the status on recieving email notification when comments or new messages are posted on the message board? This was the reason we invested in projectplace in our group, to get rid of the hopelessly long email conversation. If this does not get fixed, we will not prolong our use the projectplace.

Irronical that it is possible to recieve email notifications upon posts on this page...

The possibility to get a mail notification for slected members when new issues are created and the possibility to include any member in the notification for an issue is under development.

It is strange that this function is not standard. In our project we assumed that this was working like that. We have missed alot of comments which delays to close issues. Now someone needs to be an administrator to go though all comments al the time to see if something have changed.

Any news on this one?????

What is the status with this function, you said that this is under devlopment 2009?

I will put this in the quality v´backlog and see how the design team feels about it in the next quality meeting
