We are updating our service so after the summer notifications will stay as "unread" until they have been addressed.

Hi Zohar!
When you are notified and go to the list they will stay as unread until you click on a notification in the list. Is that good enough or are you suggesting that you manually mark them as read?

Hi Silvija,
Notifications now have the "unread" background color until they have been read -- a great improvement over what it was like in the spring.

I also very much like the "mark all as read" button.

Even better would be if I could mark individual notifications back as "unread" after having read them (as is possible in gmail, for example) to mark that they still need adressing, even though I have looked at them.

Glad to hear! I would suggest that if you have tasks you would like to complete that are in the list then I would suggest that you go to "My overview" and create a personal task where you can also set a due date for.
