We have now implemented the first step of Undo for the plan - the ability to undo the latest date change. We are planning to add functionality to the Undo function (ability to undo other actions etc.) in the near future.

Hi!
We are aware that this is important due to people making mistakes. This is still however not something we have been able to prioritize yet for 2016.

However, a work around, to make sure that not anyone can enter the plan and change is by setting read access only for the plan.

Here you can read more about what this access means.
https://help.projectplace.com/wiki/index.php/Access_to_To...

Simply go to the toolbar for Plan and click on Settings menu (cog wheel) in the right corner and choose "Access Rights" There you set the access level for the different groups. So make sure you have created groups in People before you continue.

Best regards,
Silvija

We have not been able to prioritize this for 2016.

This problem is major, and is not solved by setting the access level. Those who make mistakes and unwanted changes are the ones who work with the gantt chart the most. I have to agree with Eduardo Pereira, that an Undo-Function is a must-have and should be a priority.

Hi! Here is an update related to the lack of undo in plan. In the history of an activity you can now see the new and last start date that an activity was changed from. That means that if you would move an activity by mistake you can see what date it was set to before, see screenshot.
Best regards
Silvija

Oh very good thank you very much! This is really helpful until we have a «undo» function.

It's a good start - but it's really hard to work with dependencies in the plan and not have an undo button. Entering wrong information in an activity that has multiple dependencies makes even this workaround kinda obsolete. Please prioritize this!

In Q2/Q3 we are going to make updates to the Plan tool. One of the things we are thinking of introducing is versions for the plan. In this way it will be possible to view how the plan looked like at a given point in time.
If locking the plan still will be relevant after we introduce versions remains too see. Your idea will be added as an input to that work.

Although this has been pushed forward for a while, we have an intermediate feature planned for the beginning of 2018, where it is possible to lock and unlock changes to a plan to avoid changes by accident.

We have now implemented the first step of Undo for the plan - the ability to undo the latest date change. We are planning to add functionality to the Undo function (ability to undo other actions etc.) in the near future.
