Maybe you can suggest to use the commentary for approve? Just to write approve and when everyone has - then you permanently lock it?

How would this work for you?

Hi Henning,

We have made two changes to this feature.

First we have changed the terminology from "sign" to "permanently lock". The term "sign" is used for specific digital signatures and this is not what we provide. So "permanently lock" is a better description of the functionality.

Secondly, because the function was causing problems for many users in conjunction with the review - documents were getting locked by mistake. Therefore we have separated the review process from this.

You can now find the feature to lock a document permanently on the more menu for each document. If you want, you can send the document for review first and then lock permanently when the review is done.

Best regards,
Karolina

Hi Karolina,

I noticed the changes - but never the less: the automatic signing was very handy.... Now I have to lock the document manually every time.

In our process we really did "sign" documents - in the way of approving it with your signature!
This has changed as well: the participants now just have to "finish" their review - there is no longer an approval necessary (so the approve button is missing as well).

For example: we were sending the project status presentation to our stakeholders for review and singing - they had to approve it if they agree with the content. If not, they could refuse it.

So for us the new "lock function" is a real "lost" in the process...

Hi Karolina,

Well - this is a step back in way of working, don't you think?
Way of working should become easier - not more complex.

In former times we had just "one" button to hit to approve a review and it was signed automatically!

Now - everyone has to comment... I have to check all comments and in the end I have to lock the file manually...

With the last update you just eliminated one feature that we liked the most (!) - locking and signing are indeed not the same functionalities.
Signing gave as the commitment of the reviewers...and now we just get their comments...

Maybe you can reconsider bringing back the lost functionalities - please!

BR, Henning

The sign feature was one of the best document managing features available in Projectplace.
Please bring it back.
