Hi Baastian,

It is correct that we have removed the possibility to have different plans in the management (blueant) and execution (projectplace) modules of Projectplace Extended. The reasoning behind this is that an added activity represents an increased scope which should be cleared in the management module. Once it is approved there it will be synced to Projectplace.

We really want to minimise the risk that the plans are different and that changes in scope are discussed and agreed upon before they happen.

Best regards,
Karolina

I really don't agree with you. In my opinion Extended is used to create a master planning and project place is used to breakdown this master planning.

For example: the master planning consists of activity 1, activity 2 and activity 3. In project place the activities are divided in activity 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 3.1, 3.2, etc.

There is imho absolutely no need to do this breakdown in extended because it doesn't necessarily increase the scope. It just a breakdown!

In my company only the master planning needs approval, not the breakdown in smaller parts. Why should I do the breakdown in extended (much more difficult) then?

Maybe the solution is to have an extra option in Blue Ant, available to the project administrator and/or the one who approves projects and plans.

Allowed to add activities in Projectplace without changing the plan in Extended:

  • Yes
  • No

That gives the users the ability and flexibility to choose for themselves. So not everybody should be able to make this choice, only the one who does the approval for a plan.
