Hi Chris-Anton,

Thanks so much for letting us know about your and your users' experiences. Since you send such good information it is easy for us to go back and check what has happened in your project between these dates. I will investigate and let you know.

Best regards,
Karolina

Hi again,

Just to let you know that we will probably come back to you next week about this.

All the best,
Karolina

Hi Chris-Anton,

We have spent some time troubleshooting now and have discovered an issue with the colours that will be corrected asap. The problem made orange and grey coloured activities show up as green.

The other problem - with the dates is different. What seems to happen for you is that the changes you make do not display immediately on your screen. So that the changes you made on the 7th January did not show up in the screen shot. But on the 9th when you went in again, the changes are visible. I.e. the first screen shot in this case is incorrect and the second correct (the green activity on the bottom of the second screen shot has moved down because the start date was moved and activities can not overlap visually, this pushed this activity to the bottom of the list).

When you change an activity, this change should be immediately reflected on screen.

To verify the date theory is would be great to know when - at what time on the 7th- the first screen shot was taken. Also how you did the changes in as much detail as possible - via drag and drop or list or details; did you edit multiple activities as once etc.

Thanks again for reporting this!

Best regards,
Karolina

I added several activities, then I gave them different colors and dragged them around, and made them shorter and longer. After I was finished I made a screenshot of this. You can try this issue as well, by adding several activities like I have done, and then see what happens.

I'm pretty sure it would happen to you as well, since it's been reported by someone else in my company already (in Internet Explorer on Win7) and has been verified by my testing (in Mozilla Firefox on Win7), given that you are running on the same Projectplace code as we are connected to.

Hi Chris-Anton,

The colour issue that we found - that the grey and orange colours do not display properly- will be fixed asap.

We have, however not been able to replicate the other problem - which is that your display did not real time update the position of the activities that you changed. Well this is what we believe has happened and a rough estimate of when the picture was taken (apprx time) would really help us in the analysis.

I have tried extensively in IE9 and Firefox and Chrome, and I can not get activities to change between when I close the project and when I go in again.

so
1. There is an issue with displaying colour - the orange and grey colours are affected and this will be fixed asap.
2. We have a theory that updates that you have done to dates and positioning of activities have not displayed straight away. The updates would then display next time you enter the tool giving the graphic impression that "things have moved". In order to know if our theory is correct (since we can not duplicate this) it would be helpful to know roughly what time on the 7th the first image was taken.

Best regards,
Karolina

It is also possible that issue 2 can happen if you have more than one window open for editing the timeline at the same time.

Ok. After I uploaded the images to Projectplace I deleted them locally, hence I have to reconstruct the issue. Will provide you with data most likely tomorrow, if the issue is still persisting.

Thanks! It looks like most of the changes were made between 15 and 16, is this consistent with your feeling?
