Hi Peter,

Did you guys try conversations which you can find on the very first page after you login? It has all the features of a chat solution.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your feedback. It would be great to know if you find the conversations on the project overview useful for daily communication.

Best regards,
Karolina

Conversations is not unfortunately not useful as it is not only chatting in an individual or group chat.

A chat is something else than a conversation. it is really about a quick communication to share something or ask something. Example would be MS Lync.

In the conversation on the project overview I do not want to read discussions between team members about e.g. "what's for lunch?". Since a private, quick chat is currently not possible, alternative communication channels like email are used for that or other more private discussions and suddenly part of the project communication takes place in "shaddow channels" and the idea of one single Projectplace get's undermined...

I think that this would be a great addition and promote more extensive use of projectplace. What is the status of this idea? I can't see it on my screen....

yes- I totally agree, but unfortunately this was shot down in an idea that I posted last month. Basically- there should be a one-to-one functionality, for exactly the reason that you don't want the quick communication or low level priority communication be posted on the group conversation log. Or sometimes you just want to chat within the app because there is no cellular coverage in your office or hallway for a quick text message, and would like to use the platform since it's secure.

one more thing in that these personal messages could contain highly confidential or protected information and text messaging is not secure- would rather transmit via the Projectplace platform

Hi!
No, there is still no plans for enabling any online chatting in Projectplace.
We believe that by keeping the discussions on cards, conversations and activities you keep the communication within Projectplace. A few years back we did investigate and test it internally but it didn´t really succeed so this is not right now a top priority.

If you use a chatting tool today (like Slack) and want to for example create actions/cards from conversations taking place there you can do this with the help of Zapier.
